Qualifying Marks
The RRB JE exam requires candidates to achieve minimum qualifying marks in CBT 1, which vary by category:
Category | Minimum Passing Marks |
---|---|
Unreserved (UR) | 40% |
Other Backward Classes (OBC) | 30% |
Scheduled Caste (SC) | 30% |
Scheduled Tribe (ST) | 25% |
These percentages represent the lower bounds needed to secure admission to CBT 2. Nevertheless, the real cut-off scores are usually not in such a high level because of some:.
- Number of Candidates: High competition can raise the cut-off scores.
- Exam Difficulty: A challenging exam may lead to slightly lower cut-offs.
- Vacancy Availability: Limited vacancies can increase competition and cut-offs
Junior Engineer Result Preparation Process

Answer Key Release: In this sense, first RRB publishes a provisional answer key after the examination. That is, candidates can check their responses and look for any contradictions. If candidates discover errors or discrepancies, they are able to object through the standard process, generally needing to pay a modest fee.
Final Answer Key: After the period of objection is over, RRB thoroughly examines all objections received. In accordance with the available inputs, appropriate adjustments are made and the final answer key is released. Responses of the candidates are then scored in relation to this final version to check for correctness. Based on these final scores RRB calculates the winners and selects candidates that meet the criteria for the further selection process.
